I have had the privilege of observing and photographing the common kestrel in close proximity to my residence and at my cabin in the mountains. The male bird exhibits fewer black spots and streaks, with a distinctive blue-gray cap and tail. In contrast, the female bird, as is typical among birds of prey, is slightly larger than the male.
